Quattro attori falliti non riescono a risollevare il loro teatro dallo sfratto. Un giorno Zio Enzo, lo zio di una delle attrici, gli propone una rapina. Una proposta assurda, ma forse anche l’unica possibilità di realizzare il loro sogno.

Zio Enzo è una commedia di 15 minuti che riflette, con ironia e amarezza, sul destino delle persone.
Ci siamo mai chiesti se il nostro destino sia già scritto? Ce lo chiediamo soprattutto quando ci bussa alla porta e ci ricorda da dove veniamo, in cosa siamo cresciuti, cosa abbiamo respirato per anni.

Da qui nasce l’idea di raccontare questa storia. 
Perché tutti, prima o poi, incontriamo il nostro “Zio Enzo”: quella figura che ci riporta indietro, che ci mette di fronte a chi siamo, o forse a chi potremmo diventare.

Mi chiamo Giorgio Montaldo, sono un attore, regista romano e questo rappresenta il primo tassello di quello che vorrei fosse un percorso autoriale. 

Questo cortometraggio è un progetto indipendente nato in un periodo di forte incertezza, dove tutto sembra essere diventato più difficile e in cui ci si chiede sempre meno chi siamo e dove stiamo andando. Io penso che l’arte, e il cinema in particolare, possano ancora essere uno strumento per farci domande.

Perché il cambiamento, quello vero, inizia da lì: da una domanda.

Credo che fare cinema oggi sia un atto di condivisione importante per la società soprattutto per le piccole realtà come la nostra.  Ho deciso di formare una squadra – coesa, determinata – che ha voglia di esprimersi, di raccontarsi e di esistere.
Per noi, fare questo cortometraggio è un atto di appartenenza, l’occasione per sentirci parte di qualcosa.

Ho scelto di girare allo Spin Time perché non è solo un luogo fisico, ma uno spazio vivo, di incontro e condivisione. Uno spazio che ha accolto da subito questa storia, e che rafforza la domanda tematica al centro del film.

Four failed actors are struggling to save their theater from eviction. One day, Uncle Enzo, the uncle of one of the actresses, proposes a robbery. An absurd idea, but perhaps the only chance to make their dream come true.

Zio Enzo is a 15-minute comedy that reflects, with irony and bitterness, on the destiny of people.
Have we ever wondered if our destiny is already written? We especially ask ourselves this when it knocks at our door and reminds us where we come from, what we grew up in, what we have breathed for years.

From here comes the idea to tell this story.
Because sooner or later, we all meet our own “Zio Enzo”: that figure who brings us back, who confronts us with who we are, or perhaps who we could become.

My name is Giorgio Montaldo, I am an actor and director from Rome, and this represents the first piece of what I hope will become my authorial journey.

This short film is an independent project born during a period of great uncertainty, where everything seems to have become more difficult, and where we ask ourselves less and less who we are and where we are going. I believe that art, and cinema in particular, can still be a tool to ask ourselves questions.

Because real change starts exactly there: with a question.

I believe that making cinema today is an important act of sharing, especially for small communities like ours. I have decided to form a team — cohesive, determined — with a strong desire to express itself, to tell its story, and to exist.
For us, making this short film is an act of belonging, an opportunity to feel part of something.

I chose to shoot at Spin Time because it is not just a physical place, but a living space, a place of encounter and sharing. A space that immediately embraced this story and strengthens the thematic question at the heart of the film.
